The pH measurement pads are chemically bounded to a cellulose fiber stick to prevent contamination of the sample and stop colors from bleeding into each other. The pads are located at the end of the strip to protect the user's fingers from the test solution, and a reference color chart is printed on the back of the box for easy comparison
